From the Press Release Donald Trump states: “For years, golf has been my passion. As I added more golf clubs into the Trump portfolio, golf became a meaningful business for us and it deserves the management skills and professionalism that Carolyn and Ashley bring to the table.”
At the Present time, Donald Trump, the President of Trump Golf Management investment in the golf industry exceeds $200 million. His golf portfolio includes the following four golf clubs: Trump National Golf Club, Westchester, NY (private membership, golf and residential community, designed by Jim Fazio); Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, NJ (private membership, Tom Fazio Design, opened in 2004, second 18-hole course currently in permitting stages); Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles, Calif. (18 hole, upscale public, opening in late Spring 2005, host to the 2005 LPGA Office Depot Championship); Trump International Golf Club, Palm Beach County, Fla. (private membership, site of the ADT Skills Challenge and the LPGA season-ending ADT Championship).
At all his courses Donald Trump is not only treated like royalty – but he treats his guests the same way. The love of the game is what brought him to this undertaking and the vision of where the game can take him only fuels his ambition. It is no surprise that The Trump brand would begin to be noticed in more things across the nation, especially for those things that Donald Trump loves the most. And with golf being one of his passions, it was only time before he would increase his empire to includes more golf courses, a management team that will streamline the operations of all of the courses, and well as top of the line golf course facilities across the US.
If you were to ask Donald Trump about the courses he talks about them as if they were his children. He can give you stories about all of his spending, a million here, and hundred million there, a row of saplings that he knows exactly cost him $106.50 each, and that this investment will be worth $1000.00 each one day. Because Donald Trump always thinks so big and spends so freely, you would ask the question, "Are his courses the most expensive in the world?" And the answer may surprise you. When this question was posed to Donald Trump he responded that there was one course that was more expensive to build, Pochun Adonis Country Club in Korea cost $150 million and was built by the Daewoo Company. He does however offer the numbers that he has spent on his “babies”. Mr. Trump states that he spent $60 million on the Westchester course and $60 million here in Bedminster, with the Los Angeles golf course costing well over that.
When listening to Donald Trump opening speak about his spending at the courses, some people fee that this would be showing off, but for Trump this is excitement. Golf is one of his loves and when you ask him why he does this, and Trump boils it down to this "being here in the great outdoors," knocking balls around his lush fairways, needling friend and foe, praising the golf gods or cussing them out, makes for "a helluva day." |
